I squashed a cockroach the other day.
A big,
Fat,
Cockroach.
It was trying to get away and I squashed it.
Not that I had anything against that,
Particular cockroach but,
I was bare-foot.
I had tea,
And biscuits,
And was bare-foot when he made his dash across the corridor.
It took some time to calm down and,
Fetch another tray.
It had moved.
A thick, white streak,
Of substantial viscosity,
Ran right across the floor and,
Straight under my door.
Her gartered leg was up on the table.
She removed a delicate silver pistol and,
With his back turned,
Fired a single shot.
I used a shoe this time,
Like a maniac,
And then,
Framed by a single,
Swinging light-bulb,
Waited for the detective.

Okay, I found humor in its morbidness. I hope that was intentional. Great work!

Haha!
I admire your creativity. Its potent. There’s a touch of craziness, and that’s always a beautiful trait in a writer.

Hey Buddy,
What happened when the detective showed? Ya’s left me to wondering brother? My family used to get so God Damn many of those little cockroach bastards, when we lived in the deep South… They were out of friggin’ control too… Take care of yourself and be well kiddo ba diddeo!
Kolembo, Serial killer of cockroaches….you are doing the world a service….getting rid of pests and writing poems about it.
My daughter’s been reciting some comic’s rant about a koala infestation…..thought you might enjoy it.
Thanks for this!
This poem really cracked me up. I really enjoy your writing!
ahaha! That IS funny!
Wonderful! The detective is too busy to come by.
Urgh!! but I think there’s hope for you…You’ve admitted your … um…crime, and accepted your guilt, you are now a valued member of Society.
xPenx
(CSI will prove your innocence I’m sure, so long as you didn’t ‘contaminate’ the crime scene!! Heh!! I watch too many TV shows!!)
Excellent
This is very, very visual…LOL!…and actually great rhythm….
I enjoyed this and I, too…hate cockroaches….
Lady Nyo
You know what they say – for every serial killer you see there are a thousand more in the walls and under the carpet.
Oh that white streak is just …NAsty.
Very nice little drama today. Poor unloved cockroach.
My daughter and her roommate killed a roach with a shoe in their dorm room freshman year during move-in week. Neither one would touch it, so they just left the body under the shoe for the entire semester. There might even have been a single swinging lightbulb.
A big, fat cockroach.
Substantial viscosity.
Very interesting and entertaining.
