Saturday

short poetry, father, single, mid life crisis, parent, love, family

Love needn’t come your way,
Immediately,
Or else,

You’ll damage yourself in,
More ways than one.

Settle on the present,
State of things,

Jam on toast,
Children in the yard,

Doggy who thinks you’re
The best bone in the world.

Grab the frisbee and,
Curl it past the fuscia hydrangea,

You’ve spotted on the neighbours porch.

Love the line about the dog! Mine literally must think I’m a bone because he constantly chews on me! Great poem with a message we need to remember!

so nice, jam on toast. and i love that photo.

  4. Sounds like existing. Without love, life ain’t worth living. That is all that life is about. The reason why we love pets, adopt them, care for them or volunteer to help others. We love being needed, and feel best when cared for or have others to care about, does not have to be romantic love per se.
