keep me out of this one

muslim women hijab

you would
dismantle life this way
and bear no burden?

the lone yellow pebble
bore witness to the
abduction that took place at midnight

the man was gagged
and bound
and led away as women wept

keep me out of this one

a bear needs
twenty seven square miles
of forest
to live

keep me out of this one

the woman cut the balls off
the man who raped her

keep me out of this one

  1. Thought of you today… twice… came looking for you and found new and delightful work, work of pained words, the true you as usual. How could I miss a stranger, but I thought of you and missed you. How are you today… are you well?

…and yet if we do not speak, much less think the land of the man will be abducted and the bear lost, and the women left alone in pain…

There is a story about a business situation where the Boss shows the example of a Win-Win situation; There is a hungry bear in a cave, and a cold man. The man goes into the cave and kills the bear and then wears the fur coat. The man is no longer cold and the bear is no longer hungry. Somehow though I don’t like that outcome, but the business ‘shark’ is pleased. Sometimes we must think about injustice and speak before our own tongues are cut out.

Hopefully your poem will get people to think.
