Since you commented on my blog, I checked you out. You might like my poetry blog as well. It is a bit of a mixed bag, I guess like any amateur poetry site.
Then, one day I grew up. From the days of Mt Longonot, from cutting toe nails at Gringos and crying buckets when my friend went back after the summer holiday. Today, I smile and thank God for the many journeys we experience and, continue to experience. I got your back, always.
Hi! so I was scrolling along and somehow found your blog… and now am doing the sitting-kind-of-bouncing-up-and-down-in-excitement dance because it’s so good to read your poetry and realise that I can still hear your voice in my head. How have you been? WHERE have you been (ahem, I know, I’m the one who upped and moved, so I’m sorry)… I hope you’re well.
Growing up is very difficult, if not impossible, to do,
especially after one is actually grown up.
Take it or not from this one, for what it’s worth,
when one grows old
One will look dead before one actually dies…
Thanks for your kind words. Great poems yerself! I especially like Aphrodisiac. You have found your voice, keep at it. Dundee as a choice over Warsaw? very scary idea… another fine poem.
Thank you for visiting and commenting on my Blog for Missing People and Children. Strangely I did not expect to find such excellent poetry by clicking on your blog to thank you for your comment and I feel I have to tell you that you are very connected to humanity and seem to project the essence of human beings and the recess of all minds.. I am a poetry writer also, therefore I am very interested in reading yours. Keep up this creative endeavour because it is ‘a voice’ and it reaches corners light and dark illuminating both to make people think. Thats all people have to really do – is think.
So be who you be
explore what you see
and keep reaching the minds
of all mankind.
Isn’t it amazing how we find each other? I’m straight, wife, mother, poet, faith walker, lover of all the arts… and outright rebel against most things status quo… hope we can keep talking poetry and I can keep basking in your inspirational words. xo LA
Oh, please do not grow up – it is sooo- over-rated! So please to meet you through the web… If I could only untangle myself half the time I might just get to where I’m going. ~Jules
I ended up having to open a second blog that I can’t figure out just so I can leave comments – as Blogger and WordPress don’t play nice.
The one through here is my short verse…
Hey, how’ve you been, man? I’ve not heard from you in awhile. Hope you’re deep in a new poem. Can’t wait to read. Also, I hope all is well and your surroundings are peaceful. Check in every once in awhile.
Hi Kolembo. Greetings from SA. Look forward to reading more of your stuff. I see Luke has invited you to join Facial Expression Poetry Circle on fb. Great group of people if you are interested. It was Luke who led me to your page and your ‘nigger, whore, bitch’ poem. Absolutely amazing poem.
Don’t know why I haven’t read this page before – but you look exactly as I pictured! You life fascinates me, because it has produced such an astounding writer! What sort of films do you direct? If you ever need an older white woman for a character part in one of your films, let me know! I do have experience (quite a lot on the stage), but have never done film work.
In what country do you live? You can reply by e-mail if you don’t want it published here.
All the best, Kenneth! I promote your blog whenever possible! Just “Tweeted” this poem and your blog!
Hey Kolembo – great work…and I love that you are gay and doing something really cool. There aren’t enough of us 🙂 I’m love you to contribute a piece to my site sometime…photographers post their photos as prompts. Give it a try, if you feel. I’ll stop back often to read your latest and greatest 🙂
What’s up? Hope all is good with you friend, checked out your poetry collection! It was “Excellent Friend!” Hit me back, just posted a new poem today my friend…
Ahh, so fabulous that you are standing so proud in the light of who-you-are. Was it always this easy? Maybe not, but you got here!
Love and light,
Alix
You’re quite good at writing. Thanks for visiting my blog and commenting. I like reading your posts, especially your poems. Subscribed to it today! 🙂
BTW, if you liked my post on the Not Eyes, but Imagination (the one with the blind person at the museum), you may also like this one: The Karma Kitchen.
Keep writing and sharing those wonderful thoughts.
@Kolembo:
Thanks again for taking time to write with your flattering comment about my analysis of President John Kennedy’s inaugural address as poetry.
But the writing that’s fascinating is your own. One can feel a deeper meaning behind your words, especially with your interest in the minimalist technique required by the 4&20 website.

Honesty is best policy.
Gay, as first word of introduction, reflects a strength of conviction.
Life is for enjoying.
Thanks for visit to my blog.
Liked your posts.
I enjoy the clear and (deceptively) simple style of your poetry. I’ll be stopping in again! Thx – ja**ly
